November meeting provided an insight into undertaking climbing Mt Kilimanjaro by Russell Procter. The meeting also outlined the process of becoming a Life Member of Probus before welcoming Anne Gooley as a life member.
October 10th saw a presentation from the Qld Police Fraud Squad and you can read a full report in the attached Newsletter.
I turned to our Secretary, John Blackford, and said “John we are halfway there!” What a wonderful few months we have planned for the remainder of 2024.
Operation “Fill the Hall” is getting closer. A quick reminder what that is all about…. as members know October is Probus celebration month, a time to reach out to our
community and tell them what fun we have at Hamilton Probus. I am encouraging all members to bring a friend toour General Meeting.
What does winter mean for you? For me it means telling Leafy only 82 days to go when
answering “when will winter be over”
An excellent trip, with a great organiser and good company, even a great bus driver! We left on time from St Colombs with a bus driver who entertained us from time to time during the two-hour trip.
I have a sense of great optimism for 2024-25. Our general meetings are generally well attended. We continue to receive enquiries from people seeking information about us, with a view to becoming members. Please be welcoming of guests at our general meetings and of those at organised events.
“I will do my best to ensure that all members have a happy, memorable year” is what I said in The Times in 2016 as President. In 2024 I hope I can live up to those same ideals.
I would like to begin by saying that it has been a great privilege to have been given the opportunity to serve as your President for the past twelve months.
Welcome to 2024, A lovely thing about Christmas is that it is compulsory, like a thunderstorm! We all go through it together. Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional.
