Hope 2026 is a happy, healthy year for everyone.
Christmas lunch coincided with the 35th anniversary of the incorporation of Hamilton Probus and was a very happy affair.
At the December meeting Dr John Blackford spoke about thrombosis and long haul flying (see page 3).
We held our February meeting at the Royal Queensland Golf Club. We had a wonderful 10 minute talk from Greg McGilvery which could have easily gone for an hour! It was about Greenland and all it’s features and attributes.
Dr John Douglas followed with his presentation on former UK Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, a woman both loved and loathed…the ‘Iron Lady”
I would like to take this opportunity to thank and acknowledge the efforts of Robyn and her team throughout the past twelve months
I also wish to take this opportunity to thank you all for the honour of serving as your Club President for 2026.
April is an important month as annual membership subscriptions are due.
Although 2027 is a long way off, I would like members to consider where they may be able to take on a future role in the club.
We are going home in May!
We look forward to holding our first meeting at the newly dedicated Community Activities Centre in Hamilton on Tuesday May 5
As indicated in the May meeting, I wanted to expand a little more on the importance of introducing the concept of a buddy system. The buddy system will ensure that all will feel welcomed and valued.
Volunteering is the mortar which makes us strong as a club and the buddy system underpins the concept of reciprocity……..read more in this month’s newsletter…..
